Legally, you need to have a consultation with a medical clinician before you can receive prescription medication. That said, you can get a prescription without going into the doctor’s office by seeing an online health care provider. Online clinicians can write prescriptions and prescription refills and will electronically send your prescription to the pharmacy of your choice, following your online appointment.
While you cannot simply order a prescription online, you can meet with an online clinician to get medication prescribed online. In order to receive prescription medication, you must first consult with a healthcare provider. This can be done online via phone or video chat. If the clinician finds you may benefit from a prescription, they will electronically send one to the pharmacy of your choice. Prescriptions must have been filled within the last 12 months.
Antibiotics are a prescription medication and therefore you must speak to a healthcare provider before you can receive them. That said, you can meet with an online clinician and get prescribes antibiotics online. In that way you avoid the clinician’s office and can receive treatment from your home or on the go!
If there is a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MENS2) or in case of hypersensitivity to Semaglutide.
The most common side effects of Semaglutide include nausea, diarrhea/constipation, feeling bloated, heartburn, belching, dizziness, vomiting, and upset stomach.
The maintenance dose of Semaglutide is 2.4 mg once weekly.
Semaglutide is the active ingredient found in the brand-name medications Wegovy® and Ozempic®. Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist prescribed as an adjunct to a healthy diet and exercise regimen for weight loss and management.
While every individual responds differently to medications, a medical study of 1961 participants demonstrated that in a 68-week period, participants lost an average body weight of ~15%. Furthermore, 1 out of 3 participants lost more than 20% of their baseline body weight.
- Adults with a BMI of 30 or more (obesity category).
- Adults with a BMI of 27-29 (overweight category), who also have at least one weight-related comorbid condition such as hypertension, diabetes type 2, or hyperlipidedemia.
- Pediatrics, 12 years and older with a BMI in the 95th percentile or greater.
Semaglutide can be administered weekly, at any time of day but on the same day each week, with or without meals.
Semaglutide should be injected subcutaneously into upper arms, abdomen or thighs.
